Dune: On Big-Screen in 3D

Ah! What I can tell! Catched up with this another exciting movie of this year at the theater. Made up plans spontaneously and just went and had a watch. Came back home re-watched few scenes once again. But, of course watching on big screen is another level experience as always.

Went early at theater to catch up with the stuff and adore the advertisements. good Lord! The workers there sanitized the whole theater before our movie started. So! Wowsers!

It was a 3D experience hence the sand flowing and the costumes making waves to make each still look like a perfect frame. For some reason! I love watching ocean on big screens in 3D. Magnificent!

The dunes look gorgeous!

I am not gonna review dune here in detail but I would say that I was moved with the dialogues this film has. The affirmations and the dialogues were delivered with full conviction and it has found permanent place in my heart.

Just wanted to put this out there that anytime in near future I would love to review entertainment for a good publication house. Hmm! Someday!!

This is my most favorite: As someone who gets worried about things. This just hit me hard.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Oscar Isaac looks phenomenal. And as everyone has already mentioned the cinematography is done on-point.

This past weeks I’ve seen movies which absolutely deserve theatrical release. I haven’t seen any Bollywood film. I don’t know if is there any upcoming movie which has this similar experience I am looking for. Let’s see!

Back to dune!

My verdict:

We are guided with a voice althrough the movie. It sews us through all the rise and fall of the thrones. We understand that gift is always not a gift. Paul played by Timothe C is subtle and sometimes intense. The scene where he gazes at the sunrise and an epic BGM plays is just wow. I loved it! His eyes and jawline! Let’s talk about his jawline as it reminds me of Bollywood veteran star Shashi Kapoor for some reason. Chani played by Zendaya only visits Paul’s dreams and finally really comes on screen later in the movie. Very much later! Lady Jessica who is Paul’s Mom is very sophisticated and strong. The plotline blossoms into an epic forthcoming saga which will have many chapters and as Chani said “This is only the beginning”

Oh! And Duncan shaves his beard very often. Who’s duncan? Mr. Aquaman guys. He just brings that confident+jazzy+warrior+everything’s gonna be fine energy on screen.

Would I recommend this movie? Yes! You won’t regret buying the tickets.

Much Love,

April (Vrushali)
